Carnival 2010  was conducted by TNAVMS, Madras Unit at Kuchalambal Kalyana Mandapam, Chetpet, Chennai on 10th January 2010. The carnival was from 10 am to 7 pm and it catered to all ages of people, young or old.  There were 60 stalls which displayed the handiwork of budding entrepreneurs.  The main attraction in the stalls were “Eli joshiyum”, Games stall, Mehndi & Tattoo.  There were many eateries which were appreciated by everyone.

The chief guests for the Carnival were Mrs. Sujatha and Mr. Varadharajan of Sowbagya, who were popular amongst the audience. The kuthuvizhakku by our Calve Sumathi, as usual was an unusual piece of art, which deserves a special mention and appreciation.  The guest of honor was the young and vibrant Mrs. Sumathi Srinivas, who felicitated the Sabha.  Scholarships were given to 25 meritorious school and college children.  Abinav Bindra of South India, Mr. Adesh K. Chetty was recognized and honored for his outstanding achievements in Rifle Shooting prowess with a medal and cash prize.

At any point of time, there were a minimum of 500 people in the Hall which showed the reach of this event amongst the public.  Through out the day, there were competitions for women and children on and off the stage.  The highlights of the competitions were Jewellery making, Leaves Decoration, Sloka competition for children, Debate on Internet and mobiles – boon or bane, Tambola, Devotional Quiz and many on the spot surprises which made the audience to be literally on their feet. The evening programs like “Save the planet”, dance program and light musical concert by children were mind boggling. On the whole, the carnival 2010 was an absolute entertainer.
