Children’s Day celebrations & Dental camp were held for children at Venkateswara Telugu School on 25th November 2009. The children participated in the games conducted under the leadership of Mrs. Shantha Sridhar with so much enthusiasm. The dental camp was conducted by Dr. Chandra Guptha. About 70 children were screened. 28 children were found to have cavities. After the screening the doctor, spoke to the children about dental hygiene and asked the children with cavities to contact their dentist for further follow up. The children were given toothpastes. Pastries were given to the children by our committee member Mrs. Nanda Srinivas’ nephew. At the end of the program, the children were given prizes and gifts. The children were very happy to be pampered with gifts and snacks. It was a joy to watch them render telugu slokas. It was visual treat to see them in action.
