Tamilnadu Arya Vysya Mahila Sabha has conducted its 37th Annual Carnival on Sunday, the 12th January 2020 at Ethiraj Kalyana Mandapam, Alwarpet, Chennai from 10 AM to 6 PM. Chief Guest for the event was Sri Tangaturi Ramakrishan, Global President, World Arya Vysya Maha Sabha. The Sabha distributed Scholarships worth Rs. 2 Lakhs to 135 Meritorious Students of School, College and Professional Education. They had done 5 service Projects, Contribution of Rs. 50000 to Venkateswara Telugu School for its renovation of Compound Wall, Spectacles to the needy, Chairs, Mattress and Provisions to Chaaru Illam, Sport Kits like Foot balls, Basket balls, Throw  Ball, Tennicoit rings, Skipping ropes, Discuss Throw etc., to Bobbili Raja Government Higher Secondary School at Puzhal and contribution for Pasupu Kumkum to a bride. Two Women writers were appreciated and honored during the day.

The Chairperson Smt. Sujatha Ramesh Babu in her welcome address mentioned that Mahila Sabha has been doing so many novel things for the upliftment of women and Girl Children. They give Scholarships, Interest free loans, construct / renovate toilets, medical aid etc., to the needy and that everyone should give back to society as much as they can. Secretary, Mrs. Chandrika Kuberan read out the Secretary Report with various activities that the Sabha has been doing.  Mrs. Calve Sumathi’s Lamp was decorated so beautifully and heavenly. There were more than 60 stalls with a wide variety of anything and everything. The food stalls had a variety of items from south to north and east to west. There were few stalls from out of Chennai itself. The competitions like, Sudoku, Rubik’s Cube were intriguing and invigorating. The Quiz on Bhagavad Gita was very refreshing and made us think about our lifestyle and God. Tambola was innovative and theme was Sankranthi and the audience enjoyed participating in the event.  Fancy Dress was based on Women Empowerment and the participants showcased many great women as their heroes. The Fold Dances were also very entertaining and took us back to our countryside. The highlight was a dance performance where the Chairperson Sujatha , Past Chairperson Preetha, Jayasree,  Usha, Bhargavi and Sheilasree gave a scintillating performance. There was a Dog show by Twisty Tails and Ms. Rekha made sure that everyone enjoyed. There was an eye camp by Radhatri Netralaya and General camp by Chennai National Hospital, Chennai
